Bulk - Dolomite Sand

Dolomite is a crushed limestone product that packs down into a firm, pale, natural-looking surface. It's the cheapest way to turn a muddy track into something you can walk or wheel a barrow over, and it looks far better than rubble in a garden setting.

What it's used for

• Garden and park pathways — a soft, light surface that suits planted areas
• Rural and shack driveways
• Horse arenas, yards and stable surrounds
• Chook runs and animal pens — it stays dry underfoot and is easy to top up

How much to order

A 50mm compacted layer over 10m² takes roughly 0.8 tonne. For a path that will carry traffic, go to 75–100mm.

Yard tip: Dolomite compacts best slightly damp. Water it in as you roll and it will set up like a soft pavement; laid dry it stays loose and tracks onto everything.
