Bulk - Forest Mulch

If you want a garden that looks pristine but behaves like a self-sustaining ecosystem, Jeffries Forest Mulch is the one. Made in South Australia from 100% recycled green organics and composted to Australian Standard AS 4454, it mimics the natural litter layer of a healthy forest floor.

Key features

• Superior matting — the fine, interlocking particle size weaves together, so it resists blowing away in wind and washing off sloped beds, while still letting water percolate through
• Weed seed and pathogen free — high-temperature composting destroys weed seed and plant disease before it reaches your garden
• Maximum water retention — acts like a sponge over the soil surface and cuts summer watering considerably
• Temperature insulation — keeps root zones cool through heatwaves and protected through frost
• Feeds the soil — 50–60% organic matter that breaks down slowly into the bed below

Best used for

Courtyard and formal garden beds where a refined, dark natural finish is wanted; sloped and windy sites where coarser mulches slide away; and established plantings where digging compost in would disturb existing roots.

Landscaper's tip: Apply at a consistent 50–75mm. Donut the mulch around plant stems and trunks rather than volcanoing it against the bark — piled mulch traps moisture and invites collar rot.
