Bulk - Red Plaster Sand

Red plaster sand is a fine, screened sand used where the finish matters as much as the strength. It works up smooth under a trowel, holds its shape on a wall and carries the warm red tone that matches a lot of Adelaide's older brick and render work.

What it's used for

• Cement render — scratch, float and finish coats on brick and block
• Heritage and restoration work where colour needs to match existing render
• Fine mortar for tuckpointing and detail work

How much to order

A 15mm render coat consumes roughly 1 tonne per 40m² of wall. Order both coats together so the colour is consistent across the job — sand from different loads can vary slightly in tone.

Yard tip: Batch by volume, not by shovel count, and keep the sand under cover. Consistent moisture is the single biggest factor in getting an even render colour.
