Bulk - Special Soil

Jeffries Special Soil is a premium blended garden soil — screened loam combined with mature compost — designed so you can fill a bed and plant into it the same day. It's the product to use when you don't want to spend a season improving what's already there.

What it's used for

• New garden beds — a complete growing medium from the start
• Raised beds and vegie patches
• Topping up settled beds and reviving tired soil
• Planting trees and shrubs into poor native ground

How much to order

One cubic metre fills a bed 10m² at 100mm deep, or a standard 2.4m × 1.2m raised bed to about 350mm. Soils settle 10–15%, so order a little over your calculated volume.

Landscaper's tip: Don't fill a raised bed with pure premium soil top to bottom. Half-fill with a cheaper loam and cap the top 200–300mm with Special Soil — that's where the roots that matter live.
