Weed mat pins are the small item that decides whether a weed mat job looks professional or looks like a tarp blew in. They hold the fabric flat while you spread mulch or stone over it, and keep the overlaps closed where weeds would otherwise come through.

How many you need

Allow roughly one pin per square metre across the sheet, plus a pin every 500mm along seams and edges. A 1.83m x 25m roll takes about 60–70 pins.

Installation tip: Pin the overlaps first, then the field. Seams are where weeds get through — the middle of a sheet almost never fails.
